Registration

A recital/enrollment fee is due for all students each year. The fee is $65.00 per student or $100.00 for a family. Students are admitted to class after receipt of their enrollment card, enrollment fee, and first and last month’s tuition payment. These fees are non-refundable. Students enrolling in the fall are registered for the entire school year, September 5, 2023, through May 25, 2024. If a student will be residing in more than one household throughout the year, and you would like to have correspondence sent to multiple addresses, please indicate so and list addresses on your enrollment card and in your parent portal.

Withdrawal

To withdraw from a class, you must contact the school office for a withdrawal slip. Students and/or parents are responsible for all tuition incurred until a completed withdrawal slip is received. Withdrawals may be made in person or via email only.

Arrival & Departure

Children’s Division students must be accompanied by an adult and arrive no earlier than ten minutes before class time. Students must be ready to enter the studio on time. It is not the instructor’s responsibility to search the bathrooms or hallways for students. All students must be picked up promptly after class. We cannot be responsible for children after class time. For your child’s safety, please arrange for prompt pick-up and plan to come into the child’s assigned waiting room to meet them. For our Children’s Division and Elementary level students protection, we do not allow them to wait outside or leave their waiting room until a parent or responsible adult retrieves them.

Class Cancellations

When conditions beyond our control necessitate, we reserve the right to cancel classes while making our best effort to notify those students involved. When the weather will not permit safe travel to lessons, we will close the studio. We highly value when District 501 closes the school day due to weather, but reserve the right to assess the weather after school hours. We will make announcements over the local television stations, an email will be sent, social media will be updated, and safety permitting, a recorded message will be left on the studio phone.

Make Up Classes

Regular attendance is of the utmost importance for the progress of both the student & the class. If your student must miss a class, he or she is invited to attend a similar level class to make-up for the missed class. Classes may be made-up before May 1, 2023. Contact the office managers for help determining the appropriate make-up class. There will be no deduction of tuition for missed classes.

Please be prompt to class. If a student is too tardy to safely join a class, he/she may be asked to observe.

Scheduled vacations are calculated into the total number of class weeks for the year to ensure that all classes meet equally.

Parent Watch Weeks

We encourage all parents to visit classes the last lesson in October, December, February, and April. Please do not bring children under three years of age as they become restless and divert attention from the lesson. Visitors are requested to refrain from talking to each other or to your child. Observation of a class is permitted before enrolling.

Parent Watch Weeks for 2023-24:

November 27 – December 2, 2023

April 22 – 27, 2024

Parent Participation Days

Parents of students enrolled in Children’s Division and Elementary classes are welcomed into the classroom to actually take a class with their child on this special day. This is a wonderful opportunity for parents & students to experience class work together. Parents will participate in every aspect of the class, so you’ll want to wear comfortable clothing and heavy socks. We strongly encourage at least one parent to attend. Your child won’t care if you’re not a Baryshnikov, they just want you there. Who knows, you may want to enroll yourself in an adult class after experiencing class.
