Gina Marie Mangiaracino earned her bachelor’s degree in dance from the University of Kansas. Her experience and expertise in this field is vast.

Gina discovered her love for dance at an early age when she started ballet at age 3 in Chicago, Ill.  Performing in many theatre, music, and dance productions enhanced her love for the stage.  She has studied with such notable dance teacher/choreographers as Gus Giordano, Bill Evans, Jose Limon, Honya Holm, Luigi, Martha Graham, Bella Lewitsky, Alvin Ailey, and Elizabeth Sherbon.

Gina has performed and taught for the University of Kansas, Jazz Dance Chicago, Pittsburg State University, and Washburn University where she developed the curriculum for an Associate of Arts Degree in Dance and was the director of the Washburn Dancers.

Currently, Gina instructs and choreographs ballet, jazz, tap, modern, lyrical, ballroom, and liturgical dance for Barbara’s Conservatory of Dance, where she has been an instructor for many years, and is an alumni member of Ballet Midwest. She serves as Ballet Midwest’s Education Co-Chairman for the Board of Directors.

Gina is the Dance Director for the Melody Brown Fun Factory for the Arts, which is an outreach community program. For the past two years, she has joined the staff of the Topeka Performing Arts Center Sheffel Theatre Clinic, where she instructs Dance, Makeup, and Drama classes. As well as dance, Gina has taught elementary school grades second, third, and fourth.

Gina’s passion for dance and teaching shines through all that she does. Her husband, Dan, often joins her in dance productions, and their 14 year old son, Daniel, pursues piano and dance seriously. She considers Barbara’s Conservatory of Dance her dance family and looks forward to another wonderful year as Senior Instructor with Barbara.
