Gina Mangiaracino, Senior Teacher

dsc 4402Gina Mangiaracino, Senior Dance Instructor for Barbara’s Conservatory of Dance, brings a wealth of expertise in dance, pedagogy, theatre, and music. She graduated with honors from The University of Kansas, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dance and a Voice Minor, and has been teaching, choreographing, and performing ever since.

Gina discovered her passion for dance at an early age as she began taking lessons at age three, performing her first solo shortly thereafter! She has studied with such notable dance artists as Alvin Ailey, Martha Graham, Luigi, Bella Lewitsky, and Gus Giordano, and danced with Giordano’s Jazz Dance Chicago for many years. In addition, Gina has taught, choreographed, and performed for the University of Kansas, Pittsburg State University, and Washburn University where she developed an Associate of Arts Degree in Dance and directed the Washburn Dancers. Gina has had the pleasure of being the Dance Director for the Melody Brown Fun Factory and joins the Sheffel Theatre Clinic staff, teaching dance, make-up, costumes, and drama classes.

This season, she looks forward to instructing and choreographing all styles of dance and being involved as an Alumni member of Ballet Midwest and serving as Public Appearance Coordinator. Gina’s son, Daniel who is currently pursuing dance and music at USC, and husband Dan (both longtime members of Ballet Midwest) often join her in dance productions. Gina and her family were honored with the 2018 Ballet Midwest O’Connor Lifetime Service Award, and considers Barbara’s Conservatory of Dance and Ballet Midwest part of their family!
