Alexis 2014 headshot 001Alexis Faught will be a junior attending Hayden Catholic High School. Around the age of 6, she started dancing at Barbara’s Conservatory of Dance. Alexis has studied ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, liturgical, lyrical, Broadway jazz, pas de deux, and contemporary. For the past 3 years, she assisted in classes as well as Nutcracker rehearsals. Alexis was accepted into the Ballet Midwest Company in 2011 and has danced several lead roles in The Nutcracker as well as Romeo and Juliet, Coppelia, Swan Lake, and Giselle. This will be her first time teaching classes at Barbara’s and she can’t wait to get started!

In the summer of 2011, Alexis attended Ballet Magnificat!’s two week summer dance intensive and was placed in level 7.  In 2013, she attended the Joffrey Ballet Summer Intensive in New York City on scholarship for two weeks where she was placed in one of the higher levels offered. This past summer, Alexis participated in Joffrey Ballet’s Denver summer intensive for two weeks and was placed in the highest level. During this two week intensive, Alexis was one of five dancers selected by Davis Robertson to learn the Birthday Variations, a series of five different solos that they learned and danced in a performance at the end of the intensive. On the last day of Joffrey Denver, Alexis was offered a full scholarship by Meg Paul to Complexions Contemporary Ballet Summer Intensive in Detroit. While at Complexions, Alexis was placed in the professional level where she was the youngest dancer in the class. Alexis has learned so much this summer and would love to share that knowledge with the dancers at Barbara’s Conservatory of Dance!
